This is a magnetic cap, similar to a slip cap, that pulls straight off.
To fill the convertor or replace the ink cartridge, unscrew the section.
Fountain Pen Fill Styles and Inks
There are a few different filling styles for fountain pens. Our Vertex models can use either prefilled ink cartridges, or convertors that fill with bottled ink. Either way, you’ll find literally hundreds of colors and shades to choose from.
One word of caution, do not use calligraphy ink or dip pen ink in your fountain pen as it could damage the feed. We recommend Waterman inks for a good starter until you learn more about them.
